  1. I have a few friends who fall into the conservative camp, but more of them are left-leaning. Most of my family votes democrat. I come from a union state as well as the generation who preceded Matt Walsh and the crew at the Daily Wire so this is the natural order of things, at least for my circle. We love each other unconditionally because we are not now nor ever have been defined by our politics. Do we have discussions on political matters? Occasionally, but not very often and while we may disagree we don't yell at one another. The problem with Matt's premise is this, if you follow it out to its logical conclusion, any attempt to hold this nation together is futile. We may as well get on with the civil war and be done with it. But here's the thing, most people don't define themselves solely by who they vote for. I think that is a good thing. Truth be told, I didn't even know I was a conservative until someone told me I was when I started attending university and I was in my 30s by the time I found out. And it's still a label someone else put on me. Somehow I had managed to survive oblivious to the whole liberal vs. conservative angle. Call me what you will, but as long as we harden the lines that separate us we will never heal as a nation. I know commentators like Matt make their living off the food-fight but truth be told, he spends a lot his time in his echo-chamber. I get it, it's essential to his job. And I agree with Matt on a lot of social and spiritual fronts. I think transgenderism is wicked because it is sinful, not because one political side or another supports it. I follow the moral compass given to us by God and render unto Caesar what is Caesar's. I think a better roadmap to a successful marriage is to include God in the equation. I say this as someone who failed to do that and lost a marriage as a result. But don't think in political terms. Political agendas are of this world and while they are critical to this world, politicians and their minions will always let you down. We need to secure our place in the next world first before we can fix what is broken in this one. I know they make all the noise but the really bat*#$ crazies make up a small percentage of the population and despite the outsized influence pundits give Twitter 3/4 or more of the citizens aren't on it. That's just the reality. I get it, we've gotten into the habit of calling each other names, and I have been just as guilty I suppose, but at the end of the day we are all children of God. We need to direct our anger at the true enemy, and that is not our neighbor. He is the father of all lies and he loses in the end. Make sure he doesn't take you down with him because trust me, he will be friends with anyone regardless of political affiliation.
