I come from a different generation so I guess I'm not hip enough to get what this portnoy guy has been peddling but why anyone is surprised at his reaction to all of this is surprising. He's another example of someone people on the right elevated simply because he held one or two views they found appealing. Why? Because the right is star-hungry. They were star-hungry to a lesser degree before Donald Trump but since Trump ratcheted up the dial on reality TV as politics to 11 the right has been globing onto damn near anyone with more than 100,000 Twitter followers. Make a couple anti-woke statements and you're the next big thing. It's how you end up with clown's like portnoy and this vivek character running around like a mini-me version of Trump. He doesn't expect to get elected to anything but that's not why his running anyway. He's running for president and avoiding saying anything against the grand exalted poobah because he wants access to the Trump-cult base and in the long run succeed him when he kicks off. It's called building a brand and being an influencer is all the rage these days. It's a whole lot more fun than sitting behind some desk running a company and anyone with a slick message and no scruples can handle the job. They ran a nation-wide poll where something like 45% of high school students indicated they wanted to be internet influencers after they graduated. Maybe the number was even higher. I dunno. But that is the pool they swim in. The same pool that burps up guys like portnoy and vivek like I burp up an overly spicy piece of pizza. These guys are as deep as mud puddle on a flat road and they have no moral center so don't expect them to behave like they do and you will be less surprised when they reveal themselves for who they truly are. If my body wasn't so old and broken I would grab Wilson and make for that island. And people wonder how we got where we are. Mind numbing.
