Hard-core Trumpers act as cultish as hard-core lefties. They can't be reasoned with and if Trump became a democrat tomorrow most would nod and go along with him. Trump did some very good things as president, things that left me pleasantly surprised, things I don't think Ted Cruz would have had the balls to do but the thing about Trump is he is loyal to the party of Trump. That's part of his appeal, but it also sets up a situation where if he did lose a primary, he would spend the rest of the campaign season bashing DeSantis or whoever took him out. That's the difference. DeSantis would back Trump if he lost. That's just the truth. I think DeSantis realizes this and will wait until 2028. My fear is Trump will energize the marxist base enough in the swing states that those states will stay within the margin of cheating and just like in 2020 democrats will find votes where none exist and count until they win. I believe DeSantis would win those states by a large enough margin to make cheating next to impossible. We'll see. It cracked me up hearing Trump refer to "little Marco" as his good friend the other day. Oh well. Life is strange in the age of stupid.
