I wonder how many of them were paid agitators? I get the feeling 90% of what passes as reality in the age of stupid is actually bought and paid for lunacy. I'm reading a book right now on the anarchist movement in the mid-19th Century and the head knocking that used to go on at those events. Nutcases indeed, but committed maniacs. I see what passes as protests these days and I'm like even the hippies of yesteryear would be ashamed to claim em. Meanwhile the modern-day terrorists who burn cities down are allowed to get away with it because the head-cracking part of the equation has been removed. Let's be clear, I'm not calling for violence, but at some point the levy is going to break. God help us when it does, because then it won't be fun and games, and I'm not sure anyone has wrapped their head around what an actual national divorce is going to look like. Just food for thought.
