This whole thing is a sham. They know good and damn well they won't be able to stop Trump from running in 2024. Hell, they would rather run against him than DeSantis any day of the week. They just have to put on a show for their base that they TRIED to stop him. They'll muddy him up in the process but that won't matter. Trump is the mud-man. You wouldn't notice if they dumped a truck load onto him.
