  2. I don't think Tolkien fans are the passive type. Amazon picked a fight with a dug in group and I think the backlash is going to be loud and long, much more so than Wheel of Time or Star Wars. Their SJW allies in the press won't be able to write their way out of this one. I get the feeling name-calling ain't gonna work against this bunch. As for me, when I heard about dwarf baby-mama's, steamy love scenes, and an interracial Shire being part of the plot (even though the Shire wasn't a thing during the period the show is supposed to be set in), well call me close minded but I decided to take a hard pass. If that is the softball stuff they released to test the response to a woke Middle Earth I can only imagine what the stuff they are keeping under wraps looks like. Name call away. I'm just not that interested in watching this mess.
