The thing about the crap that abrams lady is spewing is there are large swaths of people in the black community who believe it. I was enrolled in a masters program when Trump was elected and one of my classmates was a black woman who I got along with fairly well. Anyway, after Trump was elected her demeanor changed and she told me her and her family were terrified that Trump would take away their right to vote. I tried to explain to her that that's not how the system works and that her right vote was protected by the Constitution but that was the last conversation I had with her, about anything. She was an educated woman in her mid-40s who held a position of some prominence with the city but her grandmother had convinced her that the country was going to return to the days of Jim Crowe and Bull Conner and that was all it took. She genuinely believed her rights were in great jeopardy. She knew I wasn't a Trump supporter at that time but it didn't matter. I was the white devil. How do you overcome that? I ask because I honestly do not know. I grew up in a neighborhood where I was in the minority and went to a school that was 80% black and I still can't wrap my head around it. You can't fix something if the great majority on one side doesn't want it fixed. That's not racist. I don't think all black people hold this woman's irrational fears but I'm afraid I have seen too much of it to dismiss it as a minority view. I wish it wasn't so. I have nothing against anyone but there are a lot of people who seem to have a problem with me and it's because of race hustlers like abrams and the ghouls in the media who go on and on about white privilege and white extremism, pounding it into people's brains. Can it be fixed? Like I said, you tell me. I'm all ears.
