  2. Candidate quality doesn't matter on the left Tucker but it does on the right. Democrats and democratic voters do what they're told. It's the whole Borg mentality. There is no single reason you can't point to and say this is why the republicans failed to win what should have been a slam dunk. Part of it was Trump. He is despised by his political opponents in a way I have never seen and I'm old enough to remember Nixon. When Trump started holding rally's at the 11th hour the message from the democrats changed from they are going to take away your abortion rights to democracy is under threat. There are voters in places like NY, MI, and PA who will never vote for a republican. They will just stay home. I'm sure a lot of them planned on doing just that until Trump came out. After that I bet a lot of em were like oh hell no, I've gotta vote even if I think my state is going to hell in a handbasket because orange man bad. You are right about the supposed leadership in the house taking a lions share of the blame. The turtle of the senate was never going to let republicans get a majority over there. The last thing he wanted was more uppity senators to deal with. But there is no reason the republicans should have less than 230 seats in the house. The problem is, look who they plan on making speaker. mccarthy is half-a-commie out of Kalifornia and that hardly makes anyone think he is going to take any action against what is going on. And what message did they have? The dems had a message twisted as it may have been and they stayed with it. The republicans, what did they have? We're not crazy. That's not enough to get the vote out. mccarthy needs to be denied the speakership. If they don't they won't have the house longer than one term.
