  1. The UN has been ineffectual at times and downright nefarious at others. It was the brainchild of FDR whose hubris knew few bounds. We should have learned by the example of the League of Nations that global joint-security, the original mission for the UN is a fools errand. It's hostility toward Israel is well-known and well-documented and when it's not engaging in that nonsense it is busy bashing the country that pays most of the bills to keep it going. The day we get fed up and tell that useless body to take their noise to someplace in Europe where these utopian fairy-tails still hold currency the better. Henry Cabot Lodge was right when he told Wilson to stick his precious league where the sun don't shine almost 100 years ago. It's too bad Roosevelt breathed new life into the beast.
