The good old US of A is one of the biggest markets for human trafficking. All those children who disappeared after being handed over to adults during the heyday of the wide open borders should be a scandal that shocks us all but it barely gets mentioned. Every day there are reports of forced prostitution rings being broken up in this country. Young girls get conned into coming over then their passports get taken by their new owners and they get handed over to some momason who pimps them out in some massage parlor or rundown motel. And there is a push to legalize it all, with people insisting we start recognizing prostitution and porn rackets as a legitimate industry with sex workers, not exploited girls strung out on dope. Of course these things go on all over the world, not just here. Saudi Arabia is notorious for grabbing passports from people from Pakistan and the Philippines and forcing them to work in a variety of jobs. Arranged marriages still happen and slave markets are still up and running in Africa. So the idea that slavery is over is absurd. It's never been more robust.
