The problem actually started when the GI's returning home from WWII jumped in the hay with the Mrs. Which is why for my money the title of greatest generation should go the Revolutionary or Civil War gang. Any generation that could burp the boomer's into existence loses the right to have that title bestowed on them. And I say that as someone who got lumped in with that bunch even though I wasn't a product of the big-bang that happened between 1945 - 1947. But that's me.

I can't speak for Europe but here in the U.S. the green new deal crowd is still holding sway in the cesspool that is washington d.c, and I apologize if my metaphor insults reservoir's built to hold human waste. The thing is though, there is a grassroots revolt gaining speed against those lunatic power-hungry energy fascists. The high price of gas combined with stupid levels of inflation are the main driver but now that the word is getting out about what piles of dogsh*t electric cars are more people are saying F-that, leave my internal combustion engine alone. Who in their right mind would pay $70,000 and up for a bag of bolts that will only take you 200 miles before it needs to be juiced up again. And has anyone seriously considered what would happen to the grid if even a million of those joke-mobiles powered up at the same time? Kalifornia is already finding out what happens when you get too many driverless vehicles on the same patch of freeway. The system freezes up and the damn things just up and quit. The internal combustion engine is probably the most impactful invention of the past 500 years. It has played a key role in raising the standard of living for the entire world and it has gotten better as the technology has improved. Used to be you were lucky to get 100,000 miles out of a car. Now? Now if you don't get 100,000 you would consider it a lemon. So what do we want to do now that we have figured out how to live better lives? Return the 1850s. Why? Because someone came up with a batsh*t stupid theory about global warming and the powers-that-be decided it was a good excuse to exercise more control and decrease the surplus population at the same time. There is a serious ant-humanity campaign going on these days and this is coming from a guy who is as far as you can get from being the tinfoil hat type. People with bad intentions are in places they have no business being and well, I guess we'll just have to see how it plays out. But people aren't stupid. They might die on the hill of climate change but they are like a cat with 18 lives. Just like when the Wall came down, they'll be back, because the never go away.
