That was well done. Musk has been fed the Hitler was a madman narrative for his entire life so it is understandable when he says he can't get his around why Hitler behaved the way he did. I've said this before but it bears repeating, when you are dealing with a true believer you have to take him at his word. People dismissed Mein Kampf as posturing because they didn't believe in the ideology contained in it. They assumed no rational person would act on such beliefs and even if Hitler wanted to the aims were too ambitious. Just like people in the U.S. State and Defense departments dismissed Bin Laden when he was spouting out nonsense about a dark day for America being on the horizon. You dismiss true believers at your own peril. You may not believe in what they are burping up but they do, and true believers are willing to die for their cause. It's more than a belief system, it's central to their being. When in doubt refer to Occam's Razor. Simple explanations due tend to be correct.
