  1. Ya gotta have a strong tolerance for cognitive dissonance if you want to be a part of the political left. This is because it's based on a false premise WRT human nature. It's like building a house with a cracked foundation. You know that eventually the crack will cause the structure to come down but until that day comes you live in it and don't worry about tomorrow. It's also why lefties don't care if they soil the carpets and kick a few holes in the wall. They know it's coming down anyway and they don't have a stake in it so why not have a bit of fun. I read about a memo one of RFK's associates wrote concerning the struggles they were experiencing as they tried to get their Bedford-Stuyvesant project off the ground. In the memo, Kennedy's colleague writes that as contradictory as it may seem, there were instances where the private sector did appear to be more efficient than the government. The fact that this guy, one of the best and the brightest wrote that speaks volumes about the universities that produce these titans of academia. True believers are always ineffective at best and dangerous at their worst.
