The dye was cast when the immigration act of 1965 became law. There were calls then and later on to make English the national language and force people to learn it or live on the fringes of society, but American's don't like to be called names so those efforts died on the vine. Sooner or later the country will become divided. You can't expect people who share no common ancestry, no common values, and no common and beliefs to form a functioning union. The term national divorce is thrown around so often it has even been used in the congress. The thing about divorces is, they tend to be messy affairs and we're not talking about who gets custody of the kids and how much child-support one side will have to provide. We are joined at the hip on an economic, military, and political level. How civil the upcoming civil war will be is anyone's guess but it's not as far off as some would want you to think. Short of a national divorce the only solution would seem to be dictatorship, a forced marriage if you will. What will be the response to that? Stay tuned, more to follow.
