The liberal eggheads still won't give the man credit. Anytime you see some documentary or news special from state-run media on the fall of the Berlin Wall and the end of the USSR they always hail Gorbachev as the man responsible for it because of his enlightened policies and forward thinking. Horseshit. Gorbachev tried his damndest to save the Soviet system but by the time he got into office the writing was on the wall (pun intended). Reagan had run the playbook he wrote back in the early 60s and the USSR had no answers. Reagan hated Détente, calling it a one-sided deal the Soviets didn't even honor and insisted on playing for the win against them, not the tie. He was proven right and the liberal shmucks couldn't handle it. The thing is, the American public loved President Reagan. To borrow from Muhamad Ali, he delivered two of the biggest one-sided-ass-whuppins to the democrats in electoral history. I voted for the man and I was a long-haired club musician. When asked, my answer was simple, Carter sucks. John Lennon even said if he could vote he'd vote for Reagan. Unfortunately, then Bush came along and fu*ked up the end-game. As much as the Clintons and almost as much as obama, the Bushes were a stain on America and the White House. But that is a discussion for another day. We sure could use a man like you now Mr. President. God Bless ya Dutch, sorry we dropped the ball and failed to win one for the Gipper.
