  1. People fail to realize that slavery was part of the natural order of things a lot longer than individual autonomy and social independence. The ideas of the Enlightenment are not ancient and government of the people, by the people, and for the people, has always been an experiment. The moment the clock on individual liberty started ticking new bosses began lining themselves up to take the place of the old. That is simple human nature. If anything will end the madness it will be the elite's desire to create AI along the same line of human engineering. People can be culled; machines? I'm thinking not so much. When Sky-Net becomes self-aware the hunters join the hunted. I happen to believe our Creator will step in as prophesized and save us from ourselves. Others are free to disagree. But if you do, then you better be ready to accept the Borg because those are our only two alternatives if you game the thing out to its logical conclusion.
