"Researchers from the University of Nottingham suggest that the Milky Way Galaxy is home to 36 communicating intelligent alien civilizations." They say it's based on an "assumption." You know what, I'm not an astrophysicist, I don't even play one on TV, but I am familiar with the premise of the Scientific Method, and the main part of it is to test the hypothesis. Then, you have to be able to replicate your findings to move from theory to fact. So what's with the specificity? Sorry, but "suggesting" something and basing a specific number on "assumptions" is junk science. That's the kind way of putting it. Bullsh*t is the more appropriate term. And this nonsense gets published. And people wonder why we have trouble figuring out which bathrooms to use. Am I saying no intelligent life exists? Of course not. But crap like that cheapens the search and turns it into nothing more than science fiction. I say there's 37. Prove me wrong.
