Community notes is not about eliminating bias but rather providing an opposing or contrary view or opinion. It is up to you to decide which you find most useful or truthful. This is the way science works as very very rarely is there an adamantly correct or incorrect opinion. People who think there is a trustworthy source of truth everyone should listen to are more-ons.

@tonyswu there is when you call opinion facts. How many boosters have you had?

@tonyswu the vast majority of what ppl call a "fact check" aren't a fact check - but even in the instance it does, what is the harm in having a community note below it? Keep in mind community notes themselves are voted or rated on by the community. If you've taken what i've said as a personal attack, i rest my case.

@tonyswu what is the difference between "fact checking" and "community notes" in your view? Both are written by people whom may or may not have qualifications, experience or knowledge in the topic being "checked" and typically use external sources to support their claims. Neither are an arbiter of truth nor are obligated to provide honest and accurate information. Things like snopes have existed for decades and aren't being replaced. They will continue to exist and are largely unaffected by what social media companies do with regards to fact checking or community notes. Essentially it seems you want there to be a central authority which decides on what is or is not a source of truth or factual information and they need to "do better" That's simply not how science works and is a very naive opinion i'm afraid. I'm going to assume you're still in school and under the impression there is ultimately a correct answer to most questions and "experts" are infallible god-like creatures possessing special knowledge which are completely unbiased and independent despite being funded or paid by biased entities such as governments, academic institutions, advertisers and the social media companies themselves. Fact checkers can submit a community note just like everyone else and if people find the information they provide as useful they'll vote/rate it as such. It used to be termed crowd sourcing, anything else is authoritarian both literally and figuratively.
