  1. It's not criticism or speech which is an issue, it's that the "protests" are not peaceful. The wording is clear and trying to twist this into a 1A free speech thing won't work. Threats of violence and making other citizens/students feel unsafe or worse intimated to the point they avoid attending campuses is the issue. You can deny that's what is happening but they aren't wearing masks because they are afraid of catching covid or similar. They know what they are doing is not acceptable and they've been getting away with it for too long. There's a new sheriff in town and he's making law and order fashionable again. The ppl protesting on campuses can go elsewhere and freely express their opinions. But they won't because they aren't protesting, they are intimidation tactics and if there is no one around to intimidate it's a waste of time. What do you think the response should be if a bunch of white nationalists turned up at Harvard every day, some of them not even students and the faculty turned a blind eye, allowing them to chant horrible things using the N word towards specifically black students wanting to attend a lecture? Should the government keep providing Harvard funding or not? That's not a 1A free speech issue and I'll be ignoring any replies which don't answer the above question as part of the reply.
