  1. In 1991 only a handful of academics even knew what email was. It wasn't used for business purposes until late 90's / early 00's. You should watch the movie "you've got mail" which was released in 1998 to get a glimpse into my how email was perceived and be more realistic with your lies in future. I bet you don't even know what Trumpet **** is or what it was used for, prove me wrong.

When i first started working in the industry a programmer was not a high paying sought after job, heck it wasn't even a dedicated job nor was "network engineer" I think anyone who got to experience the internet of the 90's and early 00's miss it, and it's not just rose coloured glasses.. it was way cooler. Hot take. Google and AdSense are solely to blame for the way it is today. Things will improve upon their inevitable demise. Mark my words. And with that i bid you farewell and wish you the best!   3.  @VoteForBukele  prior to windows 95 simply connecting to the internet was a challenge in itself, let alone configuring and running one of the very few email clients. Webmail came much later! People have a tendency to think the way things are today are just a faster version of how things were back then, which simply isn't true.. but an even bigger tendency is for ppl to exaggerate when they lie. If they had said 2001 then that's totally plausible and believable, even 94 whilst a bit of a stretch is possible. But being given advice about the content you should or shouldn't put in an email in 91, nope, i call BS. No way that happened. For the record it's not that it's bad advice, it's just the obvious and completely unnecessary lie about it being in 91. Why lie about something like that, it's such a weird thing for someone to do and i'm gunna call it out as there are far too many liars these days...

  4.  @PL-rf4hy  you worked in a telecommunications company in 1990 and sent an email from a DOS interface? Very cool. Few people had a computer on their desk in the office 35 years ago, and to be sending a friend an "electronic email" you must have been pretty high up in that company to have that sort of equipment and privilege! To do that you would have needed to first login. How did you do that? What did you use? Just a very brief explanation will do, even in non-technical executive terms. It's something you can't forget given it was part of your daily duties working in telecommunications, right?

  5.  @VoteForBukele  what makes you think you've been on longer than i? I think we're about the same age and we would have started around the same time. My first modem was a 14.4k Dynalink when i was still a teenager in highschool. When i got it, it wasn't even primarily to use the internet, it was more to access BBS's but not long after is when the internet started to gain traction. I still use my original hotmail email address to this day for personal stuff 😂 The internet wasn't as cool as it is today back then, quite the opposite.. it was just something computer nerds used but i loved it and have no shame admitting it.

If you went rogue who would revoke your access, another team member? What if the entire team went rogue?   7.  @PL-rf4hy  given you say it was a "DOS interface" this tells me you are not technically savvy nor was working in a technical role at this telecommunications company back in 1990 and still today. Next up, calling it a "telecommunications" company today might make sense, but back in 1990 what would be considered a "telecommunications" company today was more commonly called something else. Take for example AT&T, one of the largest and well known telecommunications companies in the US, neither of the T's stand for telecommunications and there is good reason for that. Now here is the kicker, even if i play along and take everything you've said as being genuine and sincere, putting the red flags above to the side as "you're not a technical minded person" and even going so far as giving you the benefit of doubt that this really did happen and it really was 1990... I still don't see any plausible explanation for the purpose of you not only having access to a mailbox but then sending mail to a "friend" or co-worker in another office. You speak as though it was a one-off event which doesn't exactly support the idea that this really did happen, on the flipside if it wasn't a one-off or rare event but rather required as part of your job it begs the question of why you wouldn't you describe it in this manner (ie used it for business purpose) rather than sending a single mail to a single person in 1990 as proof. 1) Got an explanation for that bud? Now before you think of switching your answer to "oh yeah yeah i meant that i sent lots as part of my job i just picked the friend thing as one example" i'll let you know that the process to send an email in 1990 was a lengthy and tedious process which would have involved logging into another system. 2) What did you use to login to this system? Describe it in your own non-technical terms, don't worry if you don't know the right terminology it'll be immediately obvious if you're lying or not. I'll even explain why just as i have above should you provide an answer to the above two questions. I even numbered them so it's very clear and simple for you. I would love to be proven wrong but i doubt you'll even attempt to answer what should be 2 very simple questions for someone telling the truth about a vivid memory from over 35 years ago, making you at least 50 years old today.
