If it's a local variable it's fine, global nah. If you don't know what the variables i and j and p are used for 99.9% of the time you ain't a real coder and should learn C😛 In all seriousness though and as someone else also mentioned - decades ago IDE's where not as good as they are today, you had to type everything manually, there was no autocomplete popups for variables/functions etc like there is now.. heck when i first started as a kid in the mid 90's there wasn't even syntax highlighting/colors for some of them! I'm looking at you Borland... 🧐

I learnt assembly by inlining it into a C program for graphics performance. This was when MS-DOS games still were a thing and whilst the graphics performance purpose isn't relevant today.. inlining it in C is a great entry way to learn the basics without having to write an entire 'hello world' program in ASM or even have an assembler compiler. Especially if you're running Linux or MacOSX today. Doom and doom 2 used inlining, for graphics perf 😊

@tttm99 learn what paragraphs are if you want to be taken seriously. Today my company announced that it'll be moving it's HQ to Mars. Already migrated all stationary acquisitions to an internally run team. Big Pencil already lost over 9000 and more will follow.

Entirely different processor, definitely won't work. Ps3 was a weird console that developers hated because it was so weird.. same reason it's so hard to emulate even to this day.

If you wish to progress in your career i'd suggest bringing solutions not problems to your superiors - if you have engineering credentials that's your role, solutions to problems not complaining about things you don't like. @Ovenman940 just a couple things.. 1) vim was released in 1991 but wasnt even called vim til 93 2) vim wasn't as feature rich as it is today, eg it didnt have syntax highlighting til 98 3) vim is a text editor not an IDE 4) you must be fun at parties Being allergic to comprehension, immature and argumentative is not a good combination kiddo. Choose your battles wisely..
