For ppl with ADHD the features can help.. in particular keeping track of how long you've been brushing and which teeth etc. Obviously no need for internet connectivity or even an app, but i'd say the first we'll hear of them being used for sinister purposes won't be taking control of the devices so ppls teeth or gums decay over time.. but rather as surveillance for another crime. Knowing what time each day and how long someone brushes their teeth is valuable data which you can extrapolate other information like when they go to bed/work etc. Valuable not just for criminals or foreign actors either, domestic government agencies like the FBI, CIA will almost certainly be making legal warrant requests to obtain this data for investigations in the near future if not already.
