  4.  @tobyk.4911  it's an illustrative example, want another? Shoplifting. Not every shop can afford a full time guard, so are those stores without security guards running an honor system? Not convinced? Want an example of something which is an actual honor system? Something topical? (not to be confused with tropical) Halloween candy! People who leave a huge bowl or basket on their porch with a sign "please take only one per person" or something to that effect whilst they are not home... that is an honor system. You are placing faith in people to do the right thing, however there is no risk of being caught or repercussions if they do the wrong thing. is this complicated to you? 🤣
