Unfortunately it's a casualty of Google changing their motto from "dont be evil" to "do the right thing" One is liberal the other is authoritarian.

@mina86 "whatever the case, it's factually to say Google changed it motto" - your words Read the gizmodo article, Google's motto (code of conduct) has been changed. You tried to be pedantic with the whole Alphabet is a new entity with a new motto bs, but what you didnt realize is that Google's was covertly changed too... go find the original motto, i bet you can't

@mina86 it's factually incorrect to say Google's motto is the same and hasn't been altered (or more specifically Google's code of conduct is the same as before the transition to Alphabet, as explained in the article)
3
@mina86 you are the one who claimed Google's motto is the same, that is factually incorrect. If you're going to be pedantic, at least keep track of your own words geez

Being profitable is a pretty big one

@mina86 you're splitting hairs, they covertly removed it weeks later.. read the following gizmodo article: Google Removes 'Don't Be Evil' Clause From Its Code of Conduct By Kate Conger Published May 18, 2018

@gustavoalejandromorletavil426 the plugin most ppl use is “Return YouTube Dislike.”

@Superabound2 i suppose you think morality is a religious concept too? Perhaps you are mixing up "evil" with "sin"

@mina86 point to where the motto is in the document? For something to be the same as before, it must still exist correct? We can both play semantics, fun isn't it? 🥰
1
@mina86 it's publicly accessible on Alphabet's site here (wish i could paste the url but this won't get though if i do - very easy to look up, yep abc then xyz is a company site) /investor/google-code-of-conduct/ If it wasn't the Gizmodo article wouldn't have been possible and more importantly how would you also be able to confidently claim it hasn't changed? You've provided no source or evidence to support your claim, or even attempted to, whereas i have. You've said you "don't care" as to whether or not the companies actions follow their code of conduct, hence your remarks are not coming from a position of principals or ethics - it seems merely semantics. Again, we can both play the semantics game - i think it's silly and a waste of time, but i'm in a charitable mood and it's the festive season so happy to play! Are you sure this is the hill you want to make a firm stand on? This conversation is all in written form so there is no denying who said what when, unless of course you delete/edit but that in itself tarnishes your pristine image, doesn't it? What a dilemma to get yourself into eh?! 🤔

@mina86 also don't put words in my mouth - i have NOT agreed or said it hasn't changed. Not providing a direct quote and repeatedly putting words in someone's mouth is a dodgy tactic used by dishonest ppl. Quote my exact words and we can all assess your reading comprehension skills.

@mina86 lol you've taken the bottom half of a comment in which i was clarifying the top half, the part in brackets is just re-wording to be a little more precise.. it's NOT my view at all, it's yours! 😂 The article's entire premise is that it has been quietly changed, how you've come to the conclusion i personally was saying it's the same by referencing an article proving it changed is bewildering. Did you even read the article? If so, how on earth did you think that was me agreeing with you?! If not, you probably should have as you wouldn't (or more specifically shouldn't - see how this works?) have come come to such an illogical conclusion. Here is the full comment once again: --- @mina86 it's factually incorrect to say Google's motto is the same and hasn't been altered (or more specifically Google's code of conduct is the same as before the transition to Alphabet, as explained in the article)

@mina86 "As far as i'm concerned this discussion is over." Ahh yes, what a wonderful and mature way to end - in the same manner and tone as you began 😅 You must be fun at parties, better luck next time and i wish you the best! (sincerely, take care...)

@dudidudoh you also haven't read the article, have you? It's dated 2018. Perhaps lookup the definition of libertarian and authoritarian whilst you're at it?

@redhothchilipeppers6299 what do you mean "all morals come from religion" - that makes no sense linguistically? Morals aren't objects or things, there is no pre-defined list of them. They don't "come" from anywhere as the word itself is an adjective or noun. Most people consider murder and theft as being morally wrong, but murder and theft are not morals themselves. Where you home schooled or something?!? Here is the dictionary definition: moral [ˈmɒr(ə)l] ADJECTIVE concerned with the principles of right and wrong behaviour: "the moral dimensions of medical intervention" · [more] synonyms: virtuous · good · [more] holding or manifesting high principles for proper conduct: "he prides himself on being a highly moral and ethical person" · [more] synonyms: virtuous · good · [more] NOUN a lesson that can be derived from a story or experience: "the moral of this story was that one must see the beauty in what one has" synonyms: lesson · message · [more] (morals) standards of behaviour; principles of right and wrong: "the corruption of public morals" · [more] synonyms: principles · standards · [more]

Wait til Kyle finds out that YouTube aren't even capable of preventing AI generated crypto scam ads - not only from being uploaded, but then served to people as an ad. Reporting works 6 out of 10 times in my experience, but often takes days or weeks to be actioned if ever
