Wording is important, as it can indeed assign blame, but you are all incorrect in how it should be reported. Everyone is arguing which one should be listed first, but have any of you considered it shouldn't be worded that way to begin with? Here is just one example (there are plenty more you can find with a quick search) of how these things are typically worded: --- NTSB is investigating the May 12, 2021, mid-air collision involving a Metroliner & a Cirrus near Denver, Colorado. -- Headlines get approved before they are aired/published, this wasn't just one person who decided to word it this way, why they've chosen to deviate from the norm who knows... but bickering over the order as if one is correct and one is incorrect isn't productive.

@rusticbox9908 not at all true, you watch too much tv/movies or video games if you genuinely believe military has right of way

@rusticbox9908 yeah i'm sure if a nimble military PTG (Patrol Torpedo Gunboat) is on a training mission and runs into the side of a large commercial cruise ship the Navy captain will be like "you didnt yield, that was totally your fault" right before they click "restart mission" and respawn. That's how it works in your world right?! Who needs air traffic control and their lame authority when you're the military amirite?!?

@simon6071 i provided a real world example, reporting should be neutral until there is an official cause. Perhaps you alsk missed the: "Wording is important, as it can indeed assign blame, but you are all incorrect in how it should be reported." I believe the helicopter was at fault but anyone saying they know with absolute certainty who or what is to blame without the blackbox data from the helicopter and merely the limited information revealed to the general public is frankly filling in too many gaps from their own imagination and is doing themselves no favors by arguing over wording on the internet. It won't change what happen, it won't have any meaningful impact on your life and a waste of time. But you go off, if it makes you feel better or like you're smart or something absurd.

@simon6071 what part is inconsistent? I am saying; 1) blame cannot be assigned by you, me or even journalists at this stage as none of us have sufficient information to make that judgement 2) people, like yourself pontificating it's clear the pilot is at fault, who are bickering over the wording not assigning blame to their beliefs should not be doing so 3) the correct way it should be worded is neutral and fact based, not opinion based, to which i provided a real world example of a previous mid-air collision incident I understand people are upset and their desire to point the finger, but by doing so you are doing the exact same thing but simply flipping A and B so it's B and A which aligns with your opinion. How many years of experience do you have as an air crash investigator and chief editor in journalism?

@simon6071 it wasnt even a 747, absolute muppet 🤣

@simon6071 oh btw, the collision occurred over the water, which is the corridor that helicopters are permitted to fly - saying it was off course is speculation. With regards to the altitude of both air craft, the publicly available information is inconsistent and without the blackbox data for the helicopter it's impossible for you to know with any certainty what height either was at the point of impact. But hey, as i already stated, if it makes you feel better thinking you can cherry pick which bits of the inconsistent information fit your opinion and then proclaim the helicopter was at fault when you have no means of knowing it's actual height then carry on.. you're so great.. such insightful knowledge you have in air craft, if you say it's a 747 despite one not being able to land on the length of runways available at the airport unless weather and wind conditions are perfect then it must be a 747 and the helicopter must have been at fault, cause.. umm.. reasons... wait wasnt this about wording?! 🥰

@michaelgruber1824 looks to have hit it at an angle front-side on for both, search for the drone footage of the wreckages they shot the day after and released a few days ago.. water is really shallow, helicopter isnt even fully submerged...

@simon6071 you can believe too, it doesn't mean either of us is correct, however that's not what you did. You said you "knew with absolute certainty the helicopter pilot is to blame even without the blackbox data" Wording is important remember? Try practising what you preach is my advice.
1
@simon6071 "I believe with absolute certainty that the helicopter pilot is to blame even without the blackbox data" That is a self-contradictory sentence as "believe" means to think that something is true or possible, although you are not completely certain. It's like saying i suspect with absolute certainty it might have been Mr Plum or Ms Scarlet in the Library with a candlestick. Wording is important, when you don't practice what you preach you lose credibility and look foolish. I know you can understand this concept since you accused myself of the same, difference being what i've said is consistent with dictionary definitions, cause yknow, wording is important - we can at least agree on that 😉 Have a good one mate 👍

@simon6071 look up the words "believe" and "certain" in a dictionary At this point you're just embarrassing yourself, take the L and move on. Or don't, it doesn't bother me if you want to keep deprecating yourself 🤣

@mrgoodman6620 radar which yhe tower uses had the plane at 200ft and the blackbox has it at 325ft. Which is accurate? What did the helicopter The planes blackbox wasn't recovered until the following day. The helicopter took even longer (allegedly) although seeing the drone footage i find that hard to believe and suspect something fishy being military. I get it, you have strong feelings you're correct and an inflated ego. It's difficult for you to accept uncertainty and when you've made a mistake - you are perfect and never wrong in your own mind, so me challenging this upsets you. Have a wonderful rest of your day 😊

@mrgoodman6620 oh? Someone has reconstructed in a simulator what they believe occurred happened based on incomplete data and made an animation so i guess that proves it.. i'll let the actual investigators know they're wasting their time as mrgoodman on the internet watched some youtube videos and has made a conclusive ruling which aligns to their beliefs. Thanks for the hard work and tireless hours you've put into this, without you none of this would have been possible! I'll be sure to put forward a recommendation if promoting you to senior armchair expert first thing tomorrow morning!
