Walz is a career politician, Trump is not. Trump has no desire to be in Congress or any government job other than being President. By contrast Walz already is and does want a long career in politics. That's what they mean when they say "non politician".

Why didn't she do this sooner? Why does it not come into effect until sept 4th, which also happens to push the 6 month grace period where such a rule can be reversed by a new president? Why has every one of Biden's shortcuts that bypass proper legislative process ultimately end up failing, ie blocked or reversed by the courts? (Eg student debt) 🤔 But hey i'm sure THIS one is waaay different and will actually happen.. right? 😅

@walkmonkey7 " Trump officially ended his campaign on the February 14, 2000 airing of The Today Show on NBC. Although he believed he could still win the Reform Party presidential nomination, he felt the party was too dysfunctional to support his campaign and enable a win in the general election. " So the first year he ran, as in he was on the ballot was when.... ? I'll wait.

@walkmonkey7 it's interesting that you believe putting words in my mouth is a good look for yourself. Perhaps if you throw some more unrelated information to the topic at hand at me in a haphazard manner, it'll shame me and make you feel better about your own inadequacies? Doesn't seem like a very sensible path to take if you ask me, but you of course didn't ask me, so i guess i'll just end with... it's worth a try, what could possiblie go wrong!

@walkmonkey7 what points? Wanting to be the coach of the Chicago Bulls doesn't mean you want to be Michael Jordan or even play basketball. Maybe if you were more clear on how you think the year in which he decided to run for President matters and what this has to do with myself, you will get a different response? You catch more flies with honey than vinegar as the saying goes.

@maidenthe80sla the term "career politician" refers to a specific type of politician. You figured out how to lookup "politician", did you do the same for "career politician" before replying? A career politician is an individual who has never worked outside the political arena, or who has worked in politics for a period significantly greater than that spent working in an outside field. This term usually has a negative connotation, and therefore is not generally used to describe oneself. There is a wealth of references and resources on the internet which can be very easily and quickly found, such as the following paper.. What is a career politician? Theories, concepts, and measures Published online by Cambridge University Press: 04 March 2020

@thornnorton5953 he was a teacher for 16 years (89-05), he's been a politician for 18 (06-24) years. He's a career politician by definition and stereotypes.

He's not a career politician. Harris/Walz are career politicians. Trump has no desire to be in Congress or any government job other than being President. By contrast Harris/Walz already have lengthy careers in politics and government with a desite for many more years to come. That's what they mean when they say "non politician" vs "politician". This ain't rocket science kids.
