Comments by "" (@sirtra) on "MUSK FANS: Thunderf00t is a GRIFTER FOR THE CLICKS!!!" video.
The problem is: 1) he recycles the same content over and over in the musk videos 2) it's the vast majority of content he has been producing in recent years - just look at the past year of videos. I still like his other ones but every time it's a Musk one i just groan and skip. I know i'm not alone. 3) he monetizes the videos Now #3 in itself isn't a big deal, there is no problem getting ad revenue for your hard work.. but it's not hard work when you are padding out the videos to make them mind numbingly long and tedious, do you know what type of ppl are the only ones who will sit n watch them with glee? People who have an extreme hatred towards Musk and get a kick out of watching the same critique over and over. Try make your mom sit through an entire one if you disagree. No intelligent viewer would enjoy having their time wasted watching recycled content - it's frankly disrespectful to the audience. Why does he do it then? Money. Longer video, more ads, more money. If you enjoy these and watch them start to finish, you're free to continue doing so and i won't even hate on you for doing so... each to their own as they say... but make no mistake, you're being used for Phil's own personal gain. He should do a video on how much ad revenue he has generated on all these videos, we would ALL be interested in that right?? He's done similar ones before when he couldnt get some videos monetized. Alas I wouldn't hold my breath...

@Apolloartz it matters as the title of the video is he is grifting for clicks ... it's not technically clicks but money. It's what most people consider as being a hypocrite. He is guilty of that which he accuses. I've said my piece, all the best! ✌️

@JH-pt6ih personality traits are science, it's psychology. Look up psychometric testing, many fortune 500 companies use them as part of the hiring process. Once you've been through it once (i have numerous times) and see the results about yourself, you'll likely change your tune about it being pseudoscience.

@Apolloartz his Starlink one is littered with errors, particularly with his napkin maths. The most glaring and succinct point i can highlight is he doesn't factor in something we in the business call "contention ratio". Thing is, he could have first spoken to someone who works in the industry to get a better idea of the backend side to running an ISP but he's too arrogant for that. Creating a video like this demanding "prove him wrong" is in bad faith, he's been proven wrong in the comments on previous videos but he'll never acknowledge this. I personally commented on that Starlink one about this very thing. But here is the kicker, the bulk of the content in these videos is opinion based.. it's futile to argue over opinions because they are just that.. an opinion. The proof in the pudding however is the test of time. He said Starlink is doomed to fail, won't be economically viable etc etc.. yet here we are Starlink has gone from strength to strength. It's growing in available locations and customers and guess what, other EU satellite companies are now looking into creating their own Starlink type equivalent. Remember all that controversy about Musk rejecting Ukraine's request and congress having a cry? If the US military had an alternative to Starlink for Ukraine do you think they would still be reliant on Starlink after that? At least we agree on one thing though.. it's all about the engagement/clicks/money. You've just proven him wrong yourself by saying so 🥰

@Apolloartz indeed it's rare for people to have a calm disagreement and a welcome change on the rare occasions it still happens. We are both part of the same game but i am no pawn, i have not nor do i intend to watch this video. My engagement with it is not to his benefit 😉 I still enjoy his other content and will continue to watch that, but his obsession with Musk seems unhealthy and made me respect him far less. He's intelligent enough to know what he's doing and so are his academic peers. Picking low hanging fruit to dunk on and then making wide sweeping generalizations as Phil does in these is not an admirable quality but you'll find plenty of cheerleaders for it in the comments nonetheless.. they're the ones he's playing this tired tune for and will continue until the well runs dry. There's a reason Tesla and Space X are two of the most sought after places to work by engineers time and time again in surveys and the like. It's not because Musk is a grifter or engineers are dumb and easily fooled... quite the opposite. Anyhoo, good chat mate and all the best!

@natel7382 huh? I think you are confusing Space X with Starlink. Starlink is the business and residential internet product of Space X. Space X has government contracts, Space X provides the US military with undisclosed services. It has nothing to do with Starlink - if i recall correctly Space X has been contracted to deploy a Starlink style alternative dedicated for the US military - does that sound like something the US government would do if the US military could do it themselves or had another option? Starlink services were initially donated by Musk to Ukraine in the early stages of the war, when the war began to drag on and Musk said they could no longer afford to keep offering the service for free, after some argy bargy the US government agreed to foot the bills (at least partly) for the Ukraine services as the alternative risk was Musk turning the services off. Starlink's profitability or survival is by no means dependant on the small revenue brought in by the Ukraine services - there would be a couple thousand of them at most. It was given to them for free for months, does that sound like something a company would do if it was loosing money?! Starlink's customer base would be in the hundreds of thousands and rapidly approaching a million, if not already there. Are you suggesting that Musk's grand plan for Starlink revolves around giving services to Ukraine for free to then bait the US government into paying for them as means of making Starlink profitable? On the more customers slower service, want to have a guess what "contention ratio" relates to?
