The US is sending tens of billions of dollars to Ukraine and the Russians haven’t made anywhere near the territorial gains that you predicted. The performance of the Russian military has been pretty much brain dead. The Ukrainians have punched well above their weight class. Putin believed his war of aggression would be a cakewalk, but it turned out to be anything but. Now Putin is fighting for his survival.

@alpejohnson491 If after all this time Russia is not able to control land right on its border, it is definitely not propaganda to say that their so-called “special military operation” is much more expensive in men and equipment than they could ever have imagined, to say otherwise is to be living in another universe.

@nicologiani3426 why are you minimizing the Iraqi army? Do you really believe that they were a pushover and that it is no big deal that the US utterly destroyed them? Do you feel the same way about Iran, or the many Arab armies that Israel defeated?

@nicologiani3426 the Iraqi army had a multi layered sophisticated air defense system and one of the largest number of main battle tanks, jets and land army. They just finished a long war with Iran, so there troops were battle tested. You are not justified to imply that they were not a threat. Kuwait would not agree with you. Many so-called military experts at the time were predicting that the US would suffer a bloodbath.

@kennyjones6891 nothing that you say matters. It is only what is happening on the battlefield that will decide victory. The very fact that Russia is still conducting major military operations in Ukraine, a country that is right on its border, shows that Russia is in a world of hurt. You can make all the excuses you desire it will not change the fact that Putin made a big mistake starting this nonsense.

@fls6767 Russia was the one that initiated the war on their timetable, so their poor performance is inexcusable and a monumental failure by any measure. It is definitely to Ukraine's advantage if Russian war planners view things in the manner that many of their apologist seem to do.

@acknodbikes5051 what is your point? The Russians are only fighting against the Ukrainian army. On paper the Russians have the firepower advantage. The damage being done to the Russian military is being inflicted by mostly hand held weapons. If the Russians started their illegal war of aggression with less troops than they needed to do the job, that is a reflection of their poor planning and complete incompetence. Ukraine is receiving material support from other countries, but it is the brave hearts of the Ukrainian people that is doing the fighting.

As far as Russia claims there is not even a war going on. Absolutely no information coming from the Russian side can be trusted in the least bit. @schuschnix5261 they are winning from the very fact that Ukraine still exist as an independent sovereign nation, because that definitely wasn’t Putin’s desire. From Putin’s own words he believes that Ukraine is not a real country and people. Russia is fighting a war of extermination. Russia is fighting a country that is right on its border and Russia claims to be one of the most powerful militaries on the planet. Now Russia is only fighting for the part of Ukraine that is closest to its border and Russia enjoys an advantage,in some cases, of 20 to 1. Just the fact that Ukraine is able to counter attack is amazing.
