Anything that shows black people as being anything other than slaves throughout history will be accused of being "woke" and nothing more. Even if it were something other than Cleopatra, well before the Ptolemaic dynasty, say the Twenty-fifth Dynasty of Egypt. People would still call it "Woke" to show those Nubian rulers as being black. The Ptolemaic dynasty was mostly Greek, but you will not see people complain about a non-Greek white actor playing the role. Why is that?

@JHoodChic you know that I wasn't talking about her acting abilities, you are just being cute, or practicing for your next standup gig. You must be dreaming if you don't know that the overwhelming majority of roles still go to white actors and even the roles that black actors get tend fall on the criminal and slave side. Even if this actor playing the Cleopatra role had a dozen Oscars, people would be still crying about her race, so at least be honest with yourself. It is the very diversity that you claim exists in Hollywood that the people that keep using the racist term "woke", are fighting against. They want to turn the clock back far more than just 60 years.
