  1. In fairness I would say Aaron Magruder is actually racist. he genuinely beat leaves the people's thoughts should be dictated by their skin color. I know this is the hipster guy who rid his comics and bought his books well before he got his TV show. This stuff is funny but he really thinks your actions are dictated by your demographics.

  2.  @jamesmedina3297  1Yes. 2No. There's a big difference between someone being sarcastic and someone sincerely representing his world view. McGruder is obvious about when he is being satirical. I enjoy those. It's also obvious that he thinks people are driven by identity, and that they owe a loyalty to group identity. He presents it as traitorous and shallow not to think that way. Everyone preaches, and that's what flows out of every story he tells, because it's what he sees as true.

  3.  @jamesmedina3297  His point of view character is Huey. Huey represents how he thinks people ought to be. An exaggerated version, yes, but an exaggeration of what he admires.

  5. You've never taken a college or post grad class which tries to force you to eliminate all pronouns and still express a coherent thought have you? I willingly took some hits on scores on submissions in law school simply because that nonsense leads to very tortured sentences. 3rd wave feminism has a big impact on English. It's influencing what goes into school textbooks. There are a whole wave of children out there who think and speak in nothing but emoji and "Ze" Hint "they" is plural, "he" and "she" are singular and also visually help to identify a specific object.

  7. Thanks for bashing both ways. For what it's worth I haven't found one or other sex to be any funnier than the other. I suppose a few of the very funniest people that I've known who come to mind are male, but when I think a little more, almost all of their funniest moments were done in tandem with extremely funny women and the interchange was what made it work. A set up and a hit.

  10. Everything you just said also applies to the book Lolita and they act like it's high art. I heard a big chunk of it on book tape because somebody I worked with was listening to it. It isn't just an interesting intellectual exercise of envisioning what it's like to be a pedo. It's indulging and reveling in it.

  13. something tells me that saying of a woman she is not traditionally beautiful would hurt her a lot more deeply than a casual off-hand she is ugly. If ever more inclined to be cruel that's probably what I would use.

  14. They actually had recruitment day at my law school. The handful of people I saw that seemed to be interested in it were mostly girls. Although I think law school was something like 60-40 female.
