I know plenty of Bristol Bay commercial fishermen who do all of the stuff you're saying with twin engine or even triple engine jet boats or conventional prop based boats with no computer it's just knowing your thrust vectors and setting your controls the way you want. The computer shortens the training interval it doesn't add a new capability.
