I've had to help a lot of people understand shotguns and how they work. There isn't even more maddening measurement system called dram equivalency. If you think horsepower is make no sense drama equivalency is something like goose powers coming out in the 1960s. It causes so much confusion and what we're really getting down to is mass times acceleration squared which oh I bet you is an engineer knoe a term for that. We gun people would call that muzzle energy. Not nearly as useful for marketing as something obfuscatory.
