  1. We had normal trains. They really aren't efficient for the geography we have. Americans like choice and that includes choice of time starting point and destination. Our country is bigger and more spread out than yours most likely. We have trains and use them where they make sense. We don't use them where they don't make sense. You can be nationalistically bigoted and look for excuses to make fun of us but if you apply oxygen's razor you will assume that the simplest answer is usually corrected in this case the simplest answer is the trains don't fit our needs very well.
