  1. Many of those cuts had to be done on slow reciprocal passes with broaches on shaper machines. Clean and smooth, but definitely not fast.

  2. Against state attackers, yes. And statistically in the last 100 years the single greatest cause of violent death by a huge margin is attack by one's own government. Then there are also invading governments, so yes. Excellent for home defense.

  3. A lot of reciprocating passes with a shaper machine. It is a broaching tool, or you can mount cutters in them kinda like a boring bar that do long scraping passes. Think of a sawzall the size of a Bridgeport with the bed of a mill to hold and move the work.
