@andrewgordon235 I think it might be more about the off center mass of the op rod slamming around. It's not even centered on the vertical axis. That gives more than just push or rise, it's a torque to the side. Other tappet guns can be smooth, it's all a mass ratio and location issue. Edit to add that the other big thing is that the carrier ends travel with impact. The AR either just barely thumps the buffer into the back of the tube or comes sort of it. There's no hammering. That's a major component to the recoil and the jostle.

@u.p.woodtick3296 true but the upper bound on their accuracy potential is still quite a bit less impressive than what you can get out of kind of a middle of the road AR nowadays.
