  1. Shotguns are mostly used for hunting in really cold weather. the tractor knob would be great for not having your hand on cold steel.

  2. Oh and as for the stock mechanism.... That does not look like a quick adjust mechanism so I don't think it is one. I think it is for adjusting the shotgun to a different user and locking it down.
