  1. Generally also of good creative content. Lame stuff is made to try to appeal to a theoretical customer. Good content is made because the content maker wishes it existed. See for example forgotten weapons.

  2. The BFG 50A has always been a more interesting gun to me than the Barrett. The Barrett is chunky and clunky and has a whole lot of moving parts. This has a fixed barrel. I think it's a better design. plus Mark Serbu is a pretty cool guy. He does a lot to push the envelope of what an actual normal person can get. Barrett gets props for standing up to California but it's always been clear that they're key customer s States not citizens. Serbu is the other way around. He's mostly sells to the public but he's had a few government contracts, such as being one of the original guys to build suppressed 22's for our government sneaky boys.

  4. If this was at all worth doing, Mark S would have done it already. Probably even if it was just for giggles. I think what he wanted was an accurate semi auto gun which was practical. He loves impractical toys too, but I don't think that was the goal in this project.

  5. If you noticed it already has a third hole. But that hole is for the axis pin that supports the hammer springs.

  6. No in his machine shop that has several CNC mills and all the equipment for building and proofing high quality barrels in house. The guy also happens to be a trained mechanical engineer with something like 40 years experience in the firearms industry. So it's not a crazy guy in his garage. Definitely some of his early stuff has that vibe. It's a guy with a lot of experience and a lot of industry tech knowledge building whatever he wants, for a customer base of gun hipsters.
