  2. you did it wrong. and why did you test bottles? the question was regarding cans and as far as I know it only works with cans... and you have to tap it on the top with a spoon.

  3. but I could have told you it wouldn't work... and that poking it with your finger wouldn't work. it's hilarious when you do it right cuz no one ever believes it til they see it XD

I thought this was a really obvious question and experiment... but it seems an instruction as simple as tap on the can has people lost. you have to tap it on the top with a spoon. spoons have more mass and tapping the harder top transfers the force better. just poking at it with your finger isn't going to work. totally works. edit: don't think it works with bottles though, it probably has something to do with the sharp taps and metal materials involved with cans.
