gotta wonder how many geniuses through history had high-functioning autism and managed to hide it to avoid institutions or death... a lot of them have many traits consistent with it. I'm pretty sure tesla had some level of autism for example.

lol... this discussion just highlight the disconnect between people with autism-spectrum disorders(myself included) and "normal" people... while some might see that as meaning to appreciate the things you have in common and or w.e someone with autism might see that as meaning to ignore or trivialize their struggles expecting the same of them as you would anyone else(often socially), which somtimes isn't quite possible or very difficult.

@mandinixx they say it's not passed down, but I'm sure it is to some extent...my father showed classic signs of aspergers as I was diagnosed with and never got the help he needed... ended up just giving up on life as most do.

I hope you find that thing that makes sense to your brain... there's most likely at least one thing that will flow freely. :)

luckily autism seems to be much better understood these days and some professionals are being trained to understand it... there's still a ways to go, especially with public perception because of all the stigma and people not understanding that it's a spectrum disorder, but it will only get better in your daughters future. :)

@abeck7929 best of luck! communication can be a challenge and IMO a lot of "outbursts" stem from making assumptions and confusion. (speaking as someone with aspergers..)
