"lets take it back to camp!" he says as he leaves it on the tree :P and you can braid 3 strands together to begin with to get more strength than that labor intensive method, the point of that method is the small form factor. you can braid an almost unlimited number of strands together and make your own log if you want, but that wouldn't be a rope.
