  2. This is the best comment I've read in a long time. The host shows a bit of frustration, disgust, shock as he looks at this city from the outside. That's nonsensical. The voters call the shots. It doesn't matter what nonresidents think. I, along with you, hope and assume people across the U.S. are getting exactly what they vote for. Given that, it would be asinine to send any resources their way.

  5. This is Politics 101. Say whatever you must to stay in power. If she has to say 2+2 equals 5, that's what she'll say. The constituents be damned. Actual policies, such as a police budget, are irrelevant. If a minority gets shot by police tomorrow, she'll be back on the podium telling everyone 2+2 equals 6.

  6. This may come as a shock to many, but many judges are not good people. The difference, of course, is they aren't held accountable as are street criminals. Judicial misconduct is as common as junkies in downtown Portland. The judge gives $37,000 of your $ to a murderer, because she wants him to "get mental health treatment until he understands the charges against him". If I HAD to have one of these two as a next door neighbor, I might just flip a coin.
