@svenhaheim A fictional god? Believing nothing created everything out of nothing sounds way more fictional to me. You don't believe in the virgin birth of Christ, but you do believe in the virgin birth of the universe…..out of nothing and by nothing. Besides that you believe in the virgin birth of information, also out of nothing and by nothing. No life without information! And you need to have intelligence and knowledge of the world around you to create anything. Unless you can create something from nothing, but I doubt that. Otherwise I have a job for you.
If you want to build a house, you need a plan and you have to do research. What kind of house do you need, how big, how many rooms, is the ground stable enough to build upon, which materials do you use and what are the properties of these materials, which tools do you need to work these materials, where do you start and what does the end result have to look like? So, you need intelligence(a brain) and you need knowledge of the world around you. But if there isn't a god, then when the first eye appeared, there was nobody around who knew light existed, let alone the properties of light and how to detect it. And yet, out of nothing an organ came into existence by a fault in the dna, a genetic mutation, so suddenly a cell could detect light, while nobody knew light existed.
So, how does that work? Evolution? Nature? Natural selection? Well, neither can detect light or create anything to see it. So, again, none of them knew light existed. But somehow 'they' or 'it' built an eye, without the knowledge of light, without knowledge of the properties of light and also without the knowledge of how to detect it. And without any knowledge the brain evolved, the eyes got a connection to the brain and without knowledge the right firmware was uploaded to make sense of those images the eyes detected/saw. Oh and we got 2 eyes, while without a god or other intelligent being, nobody existed who even knew what a depth even was and how to ‘see it’. Ask 10 random people and ask why we have 2 eyes and most people don’t know. It is to see depth, otherwise we walk against walls, trees and cannot aim. If that wasn’t enough, we got auto focus as well, but again if there wasn’t any god, then nobody knew what a sharp image looked like or how to test it. If I build a lens, you can be sure I have to test and adjust it a 100 times. And there wasn’t even anyone who knew something as simple as dust existed, and lo and behold: eyelids popped up, as did eye glands, eyelashes and eyebrows to keep dust from the eyes and clean them. What a miracle!
Evolution is a word to describe a process, but that is it. It is not a person, so it cannot think, detect, see, decide, ponder, invent, design, create, test, adjust, it cannot do anything at all. Nature then? Well, same thing: nature is nothing more than a word to describe everything humans haven't made, so living beings are nature, plants, insects, animals, sea, bacteria, toadstools, trees, fish and even humans. So, nature is not a person, not self aware, so it cannot think, detect, see, decide, ponder, invent, design, create, test or adjust either. Neither can natural selection. Natural selection is just one organism having a better chance of survival than the other, not a thinking agent involved either.
So, then nothing created everything if there is no god. Nothing was the cause of the big bang, of the laws of nature (why are there laws if there is no law-giver anyway?), stars, planets, moons and LIFE.
Okay, maybe the eye was just a fluke for the sake of the argument. But how about air? If there was no god, then nobody knew air existed and certainly not which gasses it is made up of and what properties these gasses had. But nothing, or if you want we can call it evolution, figured it out without being able to detect and think that the air contained oxygen, which can be used for energy for living beings. How about that?! It took humans many 1000s of years to figure out that air was made up of different gasses and that was Joseph Priestly in 1774, he was Christian btw.
But if there is no god, then nothing aka evolution or nature (pick one) figured it out first and has knowledge about chemistry and physics, without being able to think, detect, etc. That is scientifically impossible! And it also knew how to extract oxygen, which it did not know existed. Oh wait, that is impossible also. It cannot know how to extract something if it doesn't know it is there. But somehow it did, (well if you believe the mythology of atheism). Then it created a nose, air pipe, lungs, the right muscles and without knowledge the brain got a software update to fine tune the system, just as it did with the eyes, the heart, the stomach (while it didn’t know which minerals were on the earth and which could be used as food, but okay, lets not nit pick)
All life, every creature has a specific function, just as every organ has or had. Unlike a random rock, it is not designed, has no purpose and was formed gravity, sun, rain, wind, etc. You can use it as a paperweight or a hammer, but it was not designed for it. Design means to create with a purpose. And every creature has a specific purpose, every organ, etc. Eyes are for seeing, hands for grabbing, pulling, lifting and touching (can only be designed if you have knowledge of the world we live in), legs and feet for standing walking and if you are fit enough jumping and as a bonus ice skating, skiing, playing football.
So, as everything has a purpose on earth, that means their is a purpose giver, a designer, better know as God. The word design means to create with a purpose. But evolution and nature cannot give purpose to anything, because they aren’t thinking agents and so don’t even know what purpose means and have no knowledge of the world and everything it contains, neither has it knowledge of chemistry, physics, gravity, etc.
Most people cannot even build an Ikea cabinet with a building manual , let alone without.....but evolution or nature could create all life without a plan, without thinking, detect, inventing, testing, adjusting, without intelligence and knowledge? Of course it cannot!
So, atheism and uncontrolled evolution is a myth and not even a good one! Nothing cannot create anything, it cannot think, design, ponder, detect, see, feel, invent, test, adjust or even make mistakes. Only an eternal God can create everything from nothing, matter, energy, space and time. .
But again: nothing cannot create anything

Exactly, I never understand these people who say "but in the end I believe in the goodness of humanity"..........Human history was full of violence, biogtry, human sacrifice, murder, wars, torture and slavery. Many atheists say he morals of today are just made up from concensus. But they still call the police when someone doesn't adhere to the concensus and break into their house or fight back when a country with different morals attacks them.
Of course for good reason, but can you really be angry at others with different morals if it comes down to concensus?
The West is in decline since Christianity is on the way out. More division, more loneliness, more depressions, more suicides, more divorces, more drug use, more selfishness, more obsity, more chronic diseases and more state control to make up for the changing society. Doesn't mean Christians are the better people, not at all. But it binded us together and taught us to care for each other.
Christians built by far the most schools, universities, hospitals, maternity centres, eldey homes, care homes, etc of any group on earth. But since Christianity is in decline the state had to take over and they became the standard of what we should teach our children. They took more and more responsibilies from the people and so taking our freedom to decide for ourselves.
The left wants to give even more power to the state, because they don't trust the people. Ask yourself why they want to.
Dennis is right about music and art also, but that is not the only thing the age of atheism brought: marxism, communism, nihilism, relativism, horrible architecture, horrible art, a lot of horrible music, movies get worse and worse and then the latest invention:woke, with the obsessive celebration of lhgbtqia++, abortion and euthanasia and demonising everyone who don't agree with them.
