Society has been on a downfall for a long time, which we see in all aspects of life and so also the music and lyrics, but also the tv series and movies. It doesn't stop there, look at the architecture, mjost of the time it is horrible. Humans have been dumbed down, because education is a nightmare and parents are too busy too make time for their children. Youngsters have an attention span of a goldfish and cannot digest much anymore. Which plays a part too. But maybe the biggest thing is we said goodbye to God and traded it for a nihilstic world view. And does that really inspire people? Nope, it doesn't. If you know your life has meaning and you are of value, that makes people do great things, but if you are bsing told life has no meaning, then why bother to do your utmost best anyway?
