Yep, the experts said children it was bad for children when they would didn't win and it would hurt their feelings. So, instead of making the children tougher, they rewarded mediocrity. Same in schools, everybody had to pass, even if they couldn't. This created weak, spoiled, entitled and lazy people and dragged the other children down with them. Why work or train hard, it doesn't matter anyway. Mobile phones and sodial media didn't help either to bring out the best of them, sadly.

Same here in the Netherlands, most young people don't even want a job for the weekend of holidays. We started with the odd jobs at 11 or 12 years old helping farmers, washing cars of aunts and uncles, etc. Now many spend whole summers playing video games on their parents expense.
