If I could, I would join the Amish. I am tired of these phone zombies, who are glued to the device and cannot even turn their phones off during lunch or dinner or on a date they put it beside their plate. Or they record themselves crying because Trump said somethig mean in the middle of the store, while everybody is watching.

It is less than 10% which sees what is happening, the rest don't or do, but put their heads in the sand. Ignorence is bliss and they just go along as long if they get their bread and games, like the Romans already knew that is what matters most for most people. On the other hand, wars and revolutions are won by a small minority who fights back, not the 90% of the silent masses

Many people are lazy and cowards, that is why they rather live their lives without taking action, for them ignorence is bliss.......so, they just pretend nothing is the matter, as long they have their bread and games. But others just don't understand the scope of what is happening or don't know what to do about it and for example just want to be able to send and receive messages and pictures from their grandchildren. So, can you blame them?

Bread and games is enough for most people, so they go along. Many are just cowards or lazy and that is why dictators can rule countries for decades without getting much opposition. Of course many others just don't know what to do and many don't even know how to protect their privacy, not everyone is tech savvy.
