This heat pump sounds great, but wouldn't it be better if we improve our buidlings first? Build better new ones, but also improve current buildings. Because there are so many buildings which can keep the cold out fine, but they cannot keep the heat out in summer. My house is the same, sadly. It is insulated and has double glazing, but there are several errors the architect and builder made. I have huge windows, black tiles on my roof (gets incredabily hot in Summer), pretty thin walls between the neighbours (so, if they don't use sunscreens, which they don't and don't use an a/c, the heat from their house, transfers into mine), etc. Their house is 8 to 10 degrees warmer than mine (I use an a/c)
All in all, I think my house could be 5 or 6 degrees cooler in Summer with some adjustments to the house (without even an a/c or heat pump), but it is a rental house, so I can only do so much unfortunately.
