  1. to make it easier for people to justify forking over ridiculous money for the "expansion" packs. which is why alot of games go free to play, because players can more easily talk themselves into buy overpriced DLC, which end up costing far more than the box price for base games, netting the company more profit in the end.

  2.  @Giliver  literally buy everything with gold, you can easily swipe a credit card for by buying a wow token for $20. you think people are actually grinding for those millions of gold in game? XD

  3. hate to break it to you but we had 100 dollar games in the past, I remember seeing several Sega games back in the late 80s early 90s that were close to or over 100 dollars. mostly they were role playing games. Phantasy Star 4 was roughly $85 but it was a complete package with no DLC or additional fixes.
