  1. @Jurassic Hero probably because people incorrectly categorize the original ghostbusters movie. they have silly jokes and pratfalls due to people thinking of ghostbusters as a comedy. its not a comedy with some scary bits, its scary movie with some moments of comedic levity. GB 1984 is played straight for most of its run time with the occassional one liner or quip from Peter. while as GB 2016 is just a string of unfunny comedy sketches loosely tied together. this is why the depiction of the proton stream is so widely different.
