  1. +Yoshiaki Mogami Well unlike Zelda, you had no attack button, and the bump system ensured if you werent precise or extremely cautious, you would be given a swift death. So yeah Ys can be pretty hardcore, Ive only beaten maybe three times in my life since the day it was released.

  2. +TheTaskmaster the sound was lacking because when they made systems outside of Japan, they downgraded parts to make the systems cheaper. If you had a japanese console, the sound was 100x's better. Shit was in stereo, not mono

  3. +Alex Pinkstone I think Phantasy Star 4 was the best of series, and it went out on a high note before they mooked it up with the Online bs. Ive completed 1,2 and 4, never 3 though since that game is fuckin long, since you have to go through like 4 generations of characters.

  4. Alex Pinkstone If you have Steam you can get 2 3 & 4 all for relatively cheap, around $2.99, just look for the Sega Genesis and Mega Drive Classics. There is a whole library of old Genesis titles you can buy for the same price, and you can buy them all separately.

  5. +phillytheflyerable Sega was good at graphics early on, #1 Phantasy Star had graphics you wouldnt see again until the 16 bit era. The monsters all had attack animations, the backgrounds had movement, and the dungeons were all in 3-D first person.
