@raycomeau6866 They have moved away from "certainty" of the Fire being caused by a battery in one of the EVs , to "speculation" now .
Thank you for having me look it up again, They did have the story where it got towed into a port, and now the story has changed where the boat has sunk 2 miles out.
Here is two different news sources:
Approximately 4,000 cars primarily from Volkswagen Group brands, including Porsche and Lamborghini, were onboard and being shipped from Germany to the U.S. when the ship caught fire for still unconfirmed reasons, although some have suspected it may have been caused by a battery in one of the electric vehicles in the shipment.
2) The cause of the fire at Felicity Ace is still unknown but what is certain is the out of the 4,000 plus cars it was carrying, 1,000 were EVs and it was the burning EVs that made fire rescue operation next to impossible.
